At Avalynn Cakes, every cake is freshly baked and handcrafted with care. Due to the delicate and perishable nature of our products, please read the following Shipping & Delivery Policy carefully before placing your order.
By confirming an order with us, you acknowledge and agree to the terms stated below.
1. Order Lead Time
All cakes and desserts are made to order.
Orders must be placed at least 3–14 days in advance, depending on design complexity and quantity.
Custom designs, figurines, tiered cakes, and large event orders may require longer preparation time.
Urgent or last-minute orders are subject to availability and may incur an express surcharge.
2. Delivery Coverage
Delivery is available within Penang Island and selected mainland areas only.
Delivery availability will be confirmed upon checkout or via WhatsApp.
For locations outside our coverage, customers may arrange their own third-party delivery at their own risk.
3. Delivery Fees
Delivery fees are calculated based on:
Distance
Delivery time window
Order size and fragility
All delivery fees are non-refundable once delivery is arranged.
Final delivery charges will be confirmed before order confirmation at checkout.
4. Delivery Time Slots
Deliveries are scheduled within a time window, not a guaranteed exact time.
While we strive to meet preferred time slots, delays due to traffic, weather, or unforeseen circumstances may occur.
Avalynn Cakes will not be held liable for minor delivery delays beyond our control.
5. High-Rise Buildings & Access
For deliveries to high-rise buildings (e.g. condominiums, apartments, serviced residences, offices):
Recipients are required to collect the cake at the lobby or guard house.
This applies in most cases due to access restrictions, parking limitations, and time constraints.
Door-to-door delivery (to the unit/office door) is available upon request and subject to:
Building access approval
Lift availability
An additional RM5 charge
Avalynn Cakes reserves the right to default to lobby or guard house handover if door access is restricted or delayed.
6. Self-Collection
Self-collection is available from our shop during operating hours from 10am-5pm.
Customers must collect orders on the agreed date and time.
Once the cake is collected, full responsibility transfers to the customer.
Customers are advised to transport cakes in an air-conditioned vehicle with a flat surface.
Avalynn Cakes is not responsible for any damage after collection.
7. Cake Handling & Liability
Cakes are sensitive to heat, humidity, movement, and handling.
Avalynn Cakes is not responsible for damage caused by:
Improper handling or storage
Exposure to heat or direct sunlight
Unstable surfaces or vehicle movement
Late collection or unattended delivery locations
Liability transfers to the customer once the cake is delivered or collected.
8. Failed Delivery / Changes After Dispatch
Once the cake has been handed over to our delivery driver and dispatched, the order is strictly non-refundable.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Customer requesting a change of delivery time after dispatch
Recipient not being available at the delivery location (including lobby or guard house collection)
In such cases:
A return-to-shop fee will be charged if the cake needs to be brought back to Avalynn Cakes
A new delivery fee will be charged for any redelivery arrangement
All additional fees must be settled before redelivery is scheduled.
Avalynn Cakes reserves the right to decline redelivery if product quality or food safety may be compromised.
9. Delivery Acceptance
A recipient must be present during the delivery time window to receive the cake.
Cakes will not be left unattended unless prior written authorisation is provided by the customer.
Waiting time for drivers is limited. Extended waiting may result in additional charges.
10. Changes & Cancellations
Any changes to delivery details must be requested at least 24 hours before the scheduled delivery time.
Last-minute changes are subject to availability and additional charges.
Once an order has entered preparation or production, cancellations are non-refundable.
11. Quality Assurance
All cakes are inspected before leaving our kitchen.
Any issues must be reported immediately upon receipt, supported with clear photos.
No refunds or replacements will be provided once the cake has been:
Accepted by the recipient
Consumed, cut, or altered
Mishandled after delivery or collection
12. Agreement
By placing an order with Avalynn Cakes, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Shipping & Delivery Policy in full.
